Malek Mosque

After Appearance of Islam, Mosques, which were added to the urban elements of Islamic towns, gradually became their most valuable components. As Islam spread throughout Iran (since 14th Century), fire temples receded in favor of mosques. Every neighborhood in Iranian towns has at least on mosque, in which devoted Muslims gather three to five times a day for prayers. Every Friday, people congregate in a place called Jom'eh (Friday) Mosque for prayers and their politic- religious duties. Jom'eh Mosque is also called Jam'e (main) Mosque.
