Kerman University of Medical Sciences Enters the QS Asia University Rankings for the First Time
Kerman University of Medical Sciences has achieved a significant milestone by entering the QS Asia University Rankings 2026 for the first time, securing the 593rd position among Asian universities.
The QS Asia University Rankings have evaluated higher education institutions across Asia since 2009 and have published their rankings annually ever since. In the 2026 edition, a total of 1,529 universities from across Asia were assessed, including 48 universities from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Among Iran’s medical universities included in the rankings, Kerman University of Medical Sciences ranked third nationally, following Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences (302nd) and Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (445th).
The QS Asia Rankings methodology is similar to that used in the QS World University Rankings, with the addition of several Asia-specific indicators and adjusted weightings. The QS Asia University Rankings 2026 are based on the following 11 indicators:
