Objectives and Responsibilities of the Consular Affairs Office

 

The Consular Affairs and Protocol Office of Kerman University of Medical Sciences were established to provide comprehensive consular and protocol services to international students and foreign guests participating in the University's academic, scientific, and international events. Considering the sensitive nature of its responsibilities and the security requirements associated with consular affairs, this Office plays a key role in facilitating the University's international activities and promoting its global engagement.

Through its efficient performance and commitment to delivering high-quality services, the Office has made a significant contribution to strengthening the University's international relations. Over the years, its staff have carried out their duties with professionalism, accuracy, and dedication, ensuring that all procedures are completed systematically, efficiently, and within the shortest possible timeframe.

The Office is responsible for managing all consular affairs related to international applicants and students throughout their academic journey, beginning with the admission process and continuing until graduation and final clearance. In addition, where applicable, consular services are also provided to the family members of international students.

The principal responsibilities of the Office include:

  1. Conducting the necessary inquiries and obtaining the required approvals from the competent authorities to register the "No Objection" status in the Student Affairs Organization system.
  2. Issuing student visas for newly admitted international students.
  3. Issuing student residence permits.
  4. Processing applications for the extension of student residence permits.
  5. Processing the transfer of residence permits.
  6. Issuing exit and re-entry permits for international students.
  7. Processing permanent departure (final exit) procedures.
  8. Handling domestic travel permit procedures, where required.
  9. Monitoring and reviewing the legal residency status of international students residing in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
